The theme of our Annual Dinner this year is a Seat at the Table. To symbolize this, we asked several artists in our community to use a chair as their canvas and make us something creative to add to our silent auction. Madison took us up on this challenge and painted a beach-themed chair.
Madison Harmon is a recent graduate from EMU. Last year she worked with Friends In Deed promoting their furniture drive and Circles group. She enjoys art, communing with nature, and watching True Crime.
Madison says the best seat at the table she has ever received was the opportunity to go to college. Not only did it offer her the ability to better her life, but connected her with Friends In Deed where she was able to offer others an opportunity to better their lives as well!
Madison was inspired to make her Seat at The Table by all the great times she’ spent at the beach making new connections with people who give her a feeling of acceptance and belonging. Also: it reminds her that summer is right around the corner!
