I hope this finds you well as we embark on a new year filled with hope and possibilities. It is with a mix of emotions that I share some significant news with you all. After careful consideration, I have decided to step down from my role as Executive Director of Friends In Deed in June of this year. This decision was incredibly hard to make, but I believe it is the right one for both me and for Friends In Deed. It has been my privilege to lead this organization through a phase of great growth, as we added a commitment to reducing poverty in our community to our mission and our work. With the support of friends like you, we have significantly increased our programming and community impact over these last 13 years.

Now it is time to see what the next chapter of Friends In Deed will hold. With a new leader (and the energy that always brings), an amazing staff, a solid foundation, and a bright future, the sky’s the limit!

My time as Executive Director of FID has been one of my greatest joys and sources of fulfillment for me in my life. Never have I been more honored to hold a job. Never have I served with more dedicated, passionate, intelligent and caring people than with the staff, volunteers and Board members of Friends In Deed. Never have I felt more like I was fulfilling a calling on my life.

People ask me all the time about what it is that makes Friends In Deed so special or why I love this job so much. The answer is always the same: THE PEOPLE. The people I have met doing this job are some of the best people on the planet. From Circle Leaders and Allies, to volunteers, to donors and funders, to clients and friends, to staff and Board, my life is full to the brim with interesting, passionate, funny human beings. I am honored to have known and worked with all of you.

While my role as Executive Director may be coming to an end, my support for the work of Friends In Deed will endure. You can’t get rid of me that easily! I am immensely thankful for the collective efforts and contributions of all of you that have made FID what it is today.

The Board of Friends In Deed is actively engaged in the search for our new Executive Director. For those interested in contributing to the organization’s future and taking on a leadership role, the job posting can be found here.

Here’s to the journey ahead and the continued success of Friends In Deed. I look forward to witnessing the organization thrive under new leadership.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sarah
