Our Furniture Coordinator, Maria, joined Friends In Deed with the hope of creating a safer and more equitable county. They are grateful for their time here, but has discovered a true passion for fair housing.

They were sure to find fulfillment in their position, but was surprised on how many appreciative clients would call back to thank them for their help. Many clients mentioned that they hadn’t had the proper furniture for years and something as simple as a loveseat meant a world of difference to them. These kinds of calls and thanks have only deepened Maria’s admiration for the nonprofit sector.

Maria is always ready to bring a smile wherever they go. If they can’t make you life, then they will make you food. Their presence will be missed but we wish them best on their journey to eradicate poverty in Washtenaw County.

Could it be you?
